TOP 10 TIPS FOR CAR / TRUCK OWNERS

  1. Watch the DVD (if one is provided). Many owners fail to do this and a large proportion of the questions we are asked, have answers on the DVD. Ideal time to do this is while you are charging up your batteries for their first use. There is great advice and tips on tuning etc. on each DVD.

  2. When a spare part is required, use the parts diagram supplied with the model to identify the part number(s). This way, when ordering spare part(s), you are assured of the correct part and the overall process with your model shop will be much smoother.

  3. Check screws and bolts are tight before use. Due to the nature of vibration and power from these models, screws and bolts do work loose. Pay particular attention to engine, suspension and spur gear etc. Any loosening on these items and you may find yourself with a bill for spare parts you could have avoided.

  4. USE Thread Lock on all metal-to-metal fixings, this will ensure there is a minimal chance of loosening.

  5. USE aftercare products such as After-Run Oil and Air Filter Oil. These will prolong the life of your model.

  6. When tuning your car, always make fine adjustments and remember how much and which way you have adjusted. If your model does not respond well to the adjustments, return it to original position and start again. Model owners regularly make the mistake of adjusting all screws in a random fashion hoping to get lucky, more often than not these models are in our workshop within a few days to be tuned professionally.

  7. ALWAYS ensure the Batteries in your Transmitter and Receiver have enough charge. NEVER use cheap batteries, you get what you pay for with batteries, so buy the best!

  8. FIT a Failsafe, these are valuable additions to any model and could save you a small fortune in the event of a failure.

  9. USE your model in wide open areas such as parks and wasteland, away from roads and more importantly KERBS! This ensures maximum FUN and minimum disruption to others around you. Always respect other people in the areas where you are driving, at the speeds these models can go, it is possible to seriously injure an innocent passer-by.

  10. BUY a spare Glow Plug. There is nothing more frustrating than getting to a park after preparing your model, only to find you have a glow plug failure. These take 60 seconds to replace and are consumable parts (very similar to a light bulb).
