TWISTER MEDEVAC

OVERVIEW

The Twister Medevac pays homage to the pilots and crew of the Medevac helicopters that were used for the first time in 1945 to airlift wounded soldiers from front-line positions to hospitals away from the WWII battlefields. Later, several helicopter types were used as Medevac machines during the Korean war with the distinctive Bell 47/H13 taking the lead role in both real life, film and also in people's imagination. Twin stretchers were fitted atop each landing skid so that a pilot could carry two wounded soldiers to safety. Small plastic bubbles were fitted over the front of the stretchers to protect the wounded from further trauma during flight. The distinctive plastic bubble canopy and 'chop-chop' sound footprint on approach along with the stoic bravery of the pilots who flew them, have helped to build the well-deserved admiration that so many around the world still feel for this evocative little aircraft and for the brave airmen who operated them. Literally they were 'Born to Save' and they did.

It is designed for use indoors and outdoors (in calm conditions) in an adequate and safe space. This electric helicopter is designed by expert engineers and assembled at the factory. State of the art electronics in one package

The '4-in-1' on-board electronics package includes 6 channel receiver, piezo gyro, electronic mixers and speed controllers PLUS a computer fail-safe, an LED system check and a motor safe-start facility!

Failsafe and Safe-start

The failsafe cuts power to the main motor in the event of transmitter failure while the safe-start only allows starting when the throttle stick is low - so there is no danger of connecting the flight battery and inadvertently sending power instantly to the motors.

Professional transmitter

The transmitter included with the Twister Medevac has been designed for precision helicopter flying and features high quality, stick units, convertible between Mode II (throttle left) and Mode I (throttle right). The transmitter incorporates moulded ergonomic grips and a charging socket (for use with optional nicad batteries).

High performance LiPo battery and charger system

Both a 12V automatic DC charger PLUS a 240 volt mains adaptor are included giving the option of charging from a 12 volt power source directly or 240 volt mains. Charge time is around 1 hour.
